Today (and tonight), I will be working on finishing up 7 pieces for the Student art exhibition at USF. I will hopefully be able to also get these glazed and ready to fire. The darker areas will be naked clay. The white vessel component will be treated with a clear glaze that I have judiciously added wood ash and colorant to. My hope is for color runs dripping down the white vessel. Lets see how well I can achieve this. My plans for this years show is to enter two landscape reliefs, two ceramic figure/drapery sculptured studies, two pieces from my pre-Columbian inspired vessels, and one bronze sculpture. I know it is not a cohesive group of pieces. My objective this year, I want to do versatility of abilities and styles. At this point in my artistic exploration and journey, I feel a person can be versatle and still have a recognizable look. Now if I can only achieve it....lol
