Today, as Hoosiers we stand united in remembering and mourning Mr. Abdul-Rahman (Peter) Kassig. A native of Indianapolis, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Rangers after graduating high school. Upon his return, he took classes at Hanover College and Butler University. On a spring break trip to Lebanon, he felt compelled to help refugees in Syria. While providing humanitarian aid to those in need, he was captured and later murdered by ISIS. The senseless murder of this man, who gave so much, is a reminder of the evil that can be found in this world. In remembering Mr. Kassig, let us especially remember his great servants heart and dedication to helping others. During this difficult time, Kathy and I extend our sincerest condolences and prayers to the family and friends of this courageous Hoosier.
