Today, as I contemplate the best week of my life personally, - TopicsExpress

Today, as I contemplate the best week of my life personally, professionally & artistically, I will finally pat myself on the back not only for me- but to let others with dreams realize that with some blood, sweat, tears, courage, and vision, they can come true faster than you ever imagined. I woke up a few months ago and envisioned the nightclub-set Kander & Ebb musical The Act staged site-specicially in a nightclub. Each song representing a different facet of the main character, I decided to have a different woman represent each facet. I emailed, Facebooked, and called every single person I wrote down next to the song I knew theyd knock out of the park. They each said Yes. They not only said Yes, they committed with passion, grit, and stakes to their individual songs, each of them delivering theatre pieces of their own. My Dad, who saw the run-through with composer John Kander in attendance on Monday, said it best: Will, you assembled the All-Star team of musical theatre legends and legends-to-be. Home run after home run after home run for 75 minutes. I truly believe, more so than ever, the power of positive thinking, vision, and commitment to your passions. Anyone out there who has dreams that may seem absurd, unattainable, or called crazy for even thinking that it could come true. I am telling you it can come true, because for me, it somehow did. Trust your gut. Go for broke. And its friggin scary, I know. But, oh so worth it. I cannot wait to work with this cast & creative & musicians again. And I cant wait to continue to create theatrical events & concert events with material and people I believe in and am passionate about. Thank you to Mark Sendroff for believing in me so much so as to represent me professionally after this experience, a man who represents Directors that I have been looking up to since I was a kid. Thank you to John Kander for believing in my vision and being a constant source of inspiration. Thank you to my brother, Anthony, and sister, Annie, who are the best siblings one could ask for. Thank you to my Mom and Dad who never told me to be quiet as I told them at 10 years old my fascination with the staging of director Hal Princes Showboat, or at 7 years old how cool I thought it was that director Mike Ockrent used a pink light on the lead during a particular scene to add to the comedy, or at 30 years old when I called them on my birthday on November 23, 2013 and told them I was going to leap into going for a new dream. And then there is this cast, crew, and creative team of The Act. Thank you. And 12 year old Will who used to stage his own musicals and concerts with building blocks alone in his room while his friends played basketball outside thanks you as well. From the bottom of my heart, I love you each and every one of you.
