Today as we celebrate the 27th anniversary of our dear State let us begin by measuring our sociopolitical and economic achievements as a people and reaffirm our purpose and objectives. Let us ask ourselves what our contribution has been to that effort of ensuring an appreciative gain in the per capita development of our people and the macro economic development of our land in 2014, and let us commit ourselves hereon to the Akwa Ibom cause. Correspondingly, as the year 2014 races to a close, the horizon of 2015 becomes more visible and the attendant issues of the Akwa Ibom Governorship race engages our attention like never before; let us stand firm on our demand for a government of the people, by the people and for the people. I therefore pray that we the people will be guided through what we all expect to be a challenging political year for Akwa Ibom and the nation, as we articulate a direction for our dear State in 2015. May I also congratulate the current administration of Governor Akpabio for steering our union ship thus far, and doing so to the best of their ability. I urge our leaders to promote peace and unity so that we may contain the growing pockets of ignorance and prejudice that perpetuates ethnicity and threaten our unity and progress. Happy anniversary. Long Live Akwa Ibom State. Forward Ever, Backward Never ! Larry Esin (PDP Governorship Aspirant)
