Today at Qrews Nest, 13 of our Littles received their first letters from their College Bigs. College students, who volunteered in Qrews Nest when they were in high school, made a commitment this year to write to the children once per month to encourage them and show that they still care. The commitment is called The Qovenant. It was truly moving and remarkable to watch children open their very first personal letter...ever... by mail from colleges all over the country. Twenty of our Littles in Camden have been matched with twenty caring college students...many of whom were their BIGS when they were in high school. After reading the letters over and over again, the Littles took pen to paper and wrote back to their college BIG. For most...it was the first time they ever wrote a letter, sealed in an envelope, and addressed and stamped it. Qrews Nest strives to surround children from the city with additional positives influences to inspire them to aspire to greater things. It was a great day at Qrew Nest.
