Today at the Maine Civic Hack Day while talking about this project, I was asked "What about One Laptop per Child?" which was a great question and to answer this: The One Lap top per Child costs around $200/child where as the CUBE"S projected cost would be roughly $50-$75 but also the idea behind CUBE is to open up communication with One World Classroom so for one small classroom of say 2-6 children per class, the concept of a CUBE would be to act more as a computer network lab, connecting all the children with one device projected on a large screen for the entire room to see. By going the route of The Cube, costs are cut and I am able to work hands on with the children to get this project working.
