Today at the Royal Commission Mike Kane, the CEO of Boral had an opportunity to lecture the Commission on what he sees as wrong with Australias laws. Dave Noonan doesnt think that Australians want to be lectured by multi-millionaire executives of foreign multinationals on how the law could work better for those multi-national corporations. Real court cases happen in real courts, and the Boral issue is already before both the Federal and Supreme courts, Mr Kane was not subject to cross examination here at the Royal Commission, he was given a platform to deliver a political speech at this show trial. There was also no mention of the fact that Boral itself has been heavily fined for breaches of the trade practices act.
