Today at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, we handed out 500 fliers to students announcing Sundays Peoples Climate March. You can help us distribute more flyers on campus on Friday at 10:30. Well meet by the statue at the Law Library crosswalk. You can also get the word about the March and rally buy posting the following on your Facebook page and by emailing friends. Thanks! Leaders aren’t leading on climate change, so it’s up to the people to show the way. That is exactly what is happening in New York at the People’s Climate March on September 21st. This largest ever mobilization for climate action is happening just days before a landmark climate summit at the United Nations with the goal of showing world leaders that the people want them to get serious about rising to the challenge of saving our planet. Join us in Honolulu for the local People’s Climate March. Together, with hundreds of thousands of people from around the world, we here in Hawai’i can make a difference! WHEN: Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 1:45-3:30 pm WHERE: Gather in Waikiki on the beachside of the Royal Hawaiian hotel. From there we will march on the sidewalk past the police substation to the Zoo in Kapi’olani Park. Be sure to wear green shirts and flip-flops and bring your signs appropriate to the event! pol.moveon.org/event/moveonaction/142361
