Today has been a big day! Our little princess is a month old!! This morning I went up to the NICU to meet the football players with her!! We werent expecting any big names to be coming, but low and behold..in walked Ameer Abdullah. Boy was I in heaven ;) They all commented on how beautiful she is and couldnt stop touching her little fingers and toes! Mike Moudy #74 even was brave enough to hold her! They all got a kick out of that! She was the first person they came to visit on their hospital tour today! She got all sorts of attention. Little miss will more than likely end up in the Lincoln Journal Star as well as on the evening news on Channel 8 & Channel 10/11. I was a nervous wreck giving interviews. Ive never been on TV and being in front of a camera is mighty intimidating! I was also still stuttering from the fact I just had met Ameer! LOL. Jaylee took it all like a champ! She even smiled at them a couple times! Ameer even commented on her tutu and said he had one at home! ;) After we had the wonderful visit from the Huskers I got to go sit in on rounds. The doctors and nurses gave me the run down on what they usually talk about daily. She is in the 75th percentile in her height and weight! I wasnt expecting that. Shes growing like a weed. They will be starting her on some iron supplements as shes slightly anemic, which is normal. They will be trying to get her to 1 bottle of neosure formula (a preemie formula with supplements) a day instead of 2. They also upped her feedings to 4 (breast or bottle) feedings a day! Thats half of her feedings that wont be coming from her feeding tube!! I cant believe it. The doctor that was on today told us shell be home well before her due date (January 11th). She doesnt know when but it wont be too much longer! This little girl amazes me more and more each and every day. I never knew someone so tiny could accomplish so much in one month of life. She continues to prove to everyone that shes a fighter and very strong willed. I think she gets that from me ;) Tomorrow dad & I will be going up and spending the day with her on her first big holiday. I told Jace (big brother) that its a day of thanks and we are very thankful for the both of them. I told him that we would like to be able to spend Thanksgiving with her as we are thankful for all the doctors and nurses that are keeping our girl safe and healthy! He thought that was fitting!
