Today has been a hard day. After noticing Siren the cat hadnt been feeling well, we decided that a visit to the vet was needed. He has been prone to urinary blockage but this time it was much worse. Blood work and a few other tests showed irreparable damage to his kidneys and heart. Hes always been a tough one but this battle was too much. We had to let him go, in one of the hardest decisions weve ever had to make. 3 years ago we pulled him and his sister Venti out of a brick pile. After trying to find a home for them (to be honest I told Tim I was trying but had already planned on keeping them) we decided that they werent going anywhere. Alejandro was not impressed with the idea but a few days later and they were all curled up on the bed. He was always first in line to be fed and lately discovered that if he slept next to the food container, he would be fed all the faster. He would never directly wake me up for breakfast, but often enough I would awake to a tiny cold puff of air hitting my cheek...I would open one eye and only see orange fur. Siren would then be so surprised that I was awake! And since I was awake, then I might as well feed him! Im glad we got three amazing years with Siren. Life isnt going to be the same without his chirping or his snoring or his ability to turn on the charm just to get one more back rub or treat. We love you Fuzzy!
