Today has been a very sad and hard day. Today I lost my gorgeous girl Yankee, aka Ch Aldaina Bijanka AZ. I woke this morning to find she had passed in her sleep at 11.5 years of age. Yankee was the corner stone for my current breeding program, she was always successful in the show ring, from a puppy through to her later years. She was Best In Show at the GSDL show April 2009 under Judge Terry Hannan. Runner Up Best In Show at Newcastle under Stephen Cox UK 2008. She was also Reserve Siegerin at the NSW State Breed, and just last year was still competitive she won the GSDL Pointscore for Dams Progeny. My girl was bred by Marion of Aldaina Kennels and I was lucky enough to welcome her into my home when she was two and a half. Since then she has been the most wonderful companion and has spent her days with her best buddy Wizard, who is already missing her and wondering where she is. Yankee will live on in her beautiful progeny, Brooke Ch *Aldaina Bronach AZ, -and Angus *Jaknell Coz Im TNT AZ and through her grandchildren Dora Jaknell Sweet Painted Lady, Oscar Jaknell Original Sin and Aldaina Brindabella AZ. Coincidence it may seem that today, more Yankee grandchildren have been born, from her daughter Jaknell Sweet Revenge AZ. Yankee you were a one in a million dog, you were a tough cookie and I never felt alone at home with you there. You always had a toy in your mouth and you loved life to the fullest. I knew the day would finally come when I would have to say goodbye but I wasnt ready yet. We will all miss not having you around and I will miss you every day my darling girl, thank you for all the fantastic memories and the cuddles RIP my Yankee Noodle xxxxx
