Today has been filled with mixed emotions. 1st Reason: Tom & I left our youngest son @ the airport early this morning. Hes on his way to Central Asia & could be gone for as much as 2 yrs. We now have two children overseas! 2nd Reason: We attended the funeral for a friends dad. He was called to his heavenly home suddenly & unexpectedly. It was a beautiful service and I couldnt help but think of my own parents. Why? 3rd Reason: Today would have been Mom & Dads 64th anniversary. It is also the 10th anniversary of Moms funeral. During the service a song was played that was not only one of Moms favorites, but played at her funeral as well. Many memories came flooding back. I am so thankful for the Godly influence Mom & Dad had on my life. They both showered their family & friends with love, compassion and kindness. As I reflect on each of these events, I am acutely aware of how precious life is. We need to treasure whatever time we have with family & friends. They are truly a blessing!
