Today has been such an incredibly wonderful and joyful day .. I dont think I could have scripted it any better if I tried ... on this Thanksgiving Day, we remember all the many blessings we have been given, and I can say with all honestly, I cannot count them all! I started this day attending Mass at St Martin of Tours Parish in La Mesa. I cannot even begin to describe how fantastic that was on so many different levels. The church was pretty full, and I am still chuckling from Fr Jims comment about how grateful he is with the large number of our Church family in attendance .. he even kidded about the fact that it was not a Holy Day of Obligation (now he tells us LOL). Our parishs tradition is instead of taking up a monetary collection at this Mass, all in attendance are encouraged to bring non perishable food items for the Hungry (food pantry). It was so wonderful seeing all those bags of food up at the foot of the altar!!! Fr Jims homily was INCREDIBLE!! Vickie says I always say that about his homilies, but I really do mean it ... wow!!! After Mass, we brought my brother Dave over to the house ... we had a blast playing a version of stick ball in our backyard ... Naturally, the older brother always wins LOL Kristen cooked the entire Thanksgiving dinner by herself, and let me tell you, she really did knock it out of the park!!! Wow!!!! D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We spend a quick day at home ... just with the family and watched the football games ... Naturally, I topped off that wonderful meal with an equally wonderful nap!! The only thing that would have made this day even better would be if the rest of our family were here with us. Mom and Dad Rosker, and Mom and Dad Drabecki were certainly smiling down on us from Heaven ... Libby, Blanche Stetler, Michael, Rachel Rosker-Aschoff. Katie Kalka, Mark, and David ... but you guys and your families were here in our hearts. As Fr. Jim stated in his homily this morning, God is the source of all of our Blessing, and I am so thankful and humbled by all of his wonders. His love and compassion for us all is so amazing. I guess the only way we can begin to pay him back is to do what he tells us in the Gospel, and that is to love our neighbors as he loves us!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
