Today hs been a busy and eventful day. In d mrng wnt 2 St. Pauls Cathedral 4 d mrng service 2 usher in d 1st day of d Advent - ushering in the joyful Christmas season, and also coinciding on the Worlds AIDS day, where children of a care center Home and Hospital 4 AIDS patints and their children, came and performed and shard a power point presentation of their work. Then in the afternun attended d Annual All CNI Church Thanksgiving Service followd by d Cultural Fest and Dinner. Then went to the Academy of Fine Arts and was ushered in to the 35 years of celebration of CONTRIVANCE - a group of contemporary artists from West Bengal who have converged way back in 1979 promoting the modern art movement. They displayed various kinds of paintings, drawings and sculptures. Kolkata was its last destination. They had exhibitns in Goa, Bangalore and Mumbai all in this year. I was simply fascinated by Dipankar Mukherjees 30X36 inch Acrylic on canvas painting entitled The Dream where the female character lying on a mattres and floating in mid air where two set of birds are flying one on top and d other below with faces of men and one of them was d artists own face, and d other same size and same medium on the theme Playing In Cloud wth both the female character and d male character dancing and playing in d midst of d clouds, depicting the artist himself. It was awesome indeed.
