Today in Elvis History: June 30, 1955 Elvis performed at the Curtis Gordons Radio Ranch, Mobile, Alabama. June 30, 1956 Elvis performed at the Mosque Theater, Richmond, Virginia at 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. Immediately after this show Elvis aboard the Railroad train again and returned to New York. June 30, 1960 Elvis arrived home at 3:00 p.m. and spent the evening at home with Vernon, Anita, Gene and Louise Smith. June 30, 1961 Elvis hosted a party for Red West, who was to be married the next day to Elvis secretary Pat Boyd. June 30, 1966 Elvis overdubbed vocals for three songs from 7:00 p.m. till midnight on MGMs recording stage. June 30, 1968 Another day was needed to complete the taping of the show. Once again Elvis performed If I Can Dream. The fifth take was used for the broadcast. All takes were impassioned and heartfelt. June 30, 1973 Elvis performed at the Omni, Atlanta at 3:00 and 8:30 p.m. June 30, 1974 Elvis performed at the Auditorium Arena, Omaha Nebraska at 2:30 and 8:30 p.m. June 30, 1976 Elvis performed at the Coliseum, Greensboro, North Carolina.
