Today in pictures. Jax continues with his refresher Boot Camp. After a small altercation with Ini, Jax is no longer allowed to play with Superman until he learns to manage his short fuse. His entitled attitude and frequent temper tantrums, of spilling his water bucket and whining non stop, are going to stop. I have him for 10 days, so he has no choice but to start enjoying working, in order to gain access to play and free time. Sasha is here for a 6 day refresher Boot Camp, while her mom is out of town. I havent seen her since she graduated a year and a half ago. Shes rusty and fat so Im glad shes here. Shes already getting in line and enjoying working in obedience with me. She also needs more independence. The loud screaming meltdown, after her mom put her in her kennel, was not pleasant to say the least. Shadrach started his Behavioral Rehabilitation Boot Camp. Hes going to be learning how to control his need to protect his mom, listen to basic commands around distractions and really grow his confidence and independence. He also had a meltdown after being dropped off. An hour later both dogs were fine. Hines, and his family, had their second On Site lesson. Hes been doing great the past two weeks so it was time I introduced everyone to the e-collar. We had a great lesson and we showed Hines a few of the agility obstacle. Its great watching a young and awkward puppy learn how to negotiate steps, step over bars and balance himself on the wobbly table. Its not as easy as it looks to us but Hines is learning how to trust his body while his owners are learning how to properly push him to conquer obstacles. Micky is here for an overnight stay. He has to be the largest GSD Ive ever seen. I remember him as a squirmy, loud and bald puppy. At 90+ lbs, hes taller than Kaiser but still a goofy 3 y.o. boy. I enjoy seeing my previous students, even if for a day. It gives me a chance to asses their progress and give their owners pointers.
