Today is Cesar Chavez Birthday! There is an elementary school in our neighborhood which bears his name. Remembering GANAS youth from Jefferson Middle School mentored by Roscoe Caron and Jim Garcia today. Cesar Chavez, Presente! I have a photo from him from the days of the Lettuce Boycott which has hung in every classroom and hangs today in our home. With it is a cross folded from a palm leaf in memory of Philip Vera Cruz. Viva, UFW!
