Some celebrate: In Pueblo, the city will rededicate the SHF-funded Columbus Monument to honor Italian American cultural heritage in the region. But others may choose to ignore the holiday entirely; in Colorado, Columbus Day is an optional state holiday that can be swapped out for Caesar Chavez Day.
