Today is Equal Pay Day and I’m on my way to the White House with my colleagues to join President Obama as he takes steps to close the gender wage gap. The President will sign two executive orders today that will help narrow this wage gap and increase accountability for employers. The measures prohibit federal contractors from retaliating against employees who share their salary information and require federal contractors to report wage data to the government. While these orders will address part of the gender pay gap issue, Congress must finish the job by passing the Paycheck Fairness Act. #EqualPayDay
