Today is Health Care Auxilian Day. Unity Health System’s Park Ridge Auxiliary has more than 350 members and raises funds through events, gift shop sales and through patient telephone and television billing. This year, the Auxiliary gifted $50,000 to benefit Unitys Orthopaedics Program and will award two health careers scholarships for the fall semester. The Auxiliary has purchased new 32 TVs for all of the newly-renovated med/surg patient rooms in the north hospital. In 2013, the Auxiliary gifted over $300,000 which included funding of patient care-related wish list items, Unitys Neurosciences Program, three health career scholarships and funding for the Park Place Gift Shop renovation.
