Today is International Day of Giving, and my support goes heavily towards the Foundation of the National Student Nurses Association, where I serve as president of the Board of Trustees. In this video below, you can see the work that we are doing, providing scholarships to promising students that have bright futures in the nursing profession - perhaps even taking care of you! On this day of giving, I would love to ask for your support of the Foundation. In particular, Kenya Haney and I started an endowment several years ago (Haney/Sanders Legacy of Leadership Endowment) that we are working on getting fully funded. Once fully funded, scholarships will be able to be distributed off of the earnings on the endowment, year after year after year. Our scholarship focuses on the legacy of leadership, and the importance of taking a leadership role in nursing, in your career, in your profession. We want to support students who want to take the time to do this work, but cannot always afford to lower their work hours for the time that it takes.
