Today is Kegans Birthday! For you who know me will know that this is a very SPECIAL celebration as Kegan was my very first patient I helped 2009! When I met him he was 18 months old and his prognoses was not good... Doctors said he wont make it to see his second birthday... But today we are CELEBRATING his 7th Birthday at Rio Sol! GOD IS GOOD! My very first fundraiser for kids with cancer was held at Rio Sol and we raised R5 000 in 4 weeks... I was a bit disapointed as we were hoping to raise way more than that... But when we received the first request for Kegan, he needed a special car seat and mattresses for his bed and pram. Everything was R4 000 AND we still had money left to buy him some clothes and settle a pharmacy account... This just shows you that it is NOT about the AMOUNT that we raise because EVERY little bit makes a difference.... Kegan story is a STORY OF HOPE - and I hope that he will be a motivation to EVERYONE that CANCER CAN BE BEATEN!
