Today is Police Commemoration Day. The morning was spent reading out 579 names of all the brave police men and women who have sacrificed their lives in the altar of duty. I thank each and every police man and woman today for participating in this tradition. Let this be a reminder for all to carry out our duties to the best of our abilities and in the service of the nation. Our actions will determine how high our heads will stand. It is all in our hands. Never mind the poor pay, tough conditions of work and lack of gratitude or respect from the people. We are here to do our duty as police men and women. Our motto is to do well and do even better. Society can not function without policing. It is our responsibility to reform our ills and provide service.
