Today is September 11th, a day we all remember for the attack on the US, the loss of innocent life, the courage & sacrifice made by those who fought back on Flight 93 and by all those that responded. As IFPD personnel had just finished hanging the flag for display over Hwy 243 this morning, Jack Clark, co-owner, publisher & editor of the Idyllwild Town Crier had arrived and was taking photos. Mr. Clark approached me as I stood with the personnel & asked something like - “Chief, what’s the special occasion, why are you doing this?” I looked at him in disbelief and simply responded – “Its September 11th”. His response, an embarrassed “Oh”. You can draw your own conclusions.
