Today is SigmaPi appreciation day. Since I will not be on campus today on account of just waking up now and feeling sick/exhausted, I will not be able to physically give out roses, but that doesnt mean you wont get one. This rose is a token of my appreciation for everything that each and every one of you has done for me. When I needed help, one way or another, you have been there for me, and for that, I thank you. Don Sutton- for being my mentor. Since the day I met you, you have been there for me every step of the way. You have helped me overcome so many obstacles in my life, always pushing me to do great. Over the years, I have come to regard you as more than a friend. To me you are, my best friend, my giant albino Yoda, my brother, and my father. I cannot imagine what my life would be if it werent for you. Thank you Liliana Martinez- mi mama. Ya de que no lo digo seguido, pero gracias. Gracias por todo lo que has hecho por mi. Gracias por criarme y enseñarme lo bien y lo mal, y por disciplinarme cuando lo necesito. Tu sacrificaste tu adolescencia para criarme aún que no era tu hijo. No es dar luz lo que te hace madre, si no criar y dedicar el tiempo para hacerme crecer. Te amo Z-Omar Torres-z- I know we dont always see eye to eye and we do argue a lot, but I thank you for being with me since I was born. You have always had my back and just the same, I have yours; in the playground, the soccer field, a brawl, and in life. The same way that you helped me grow I will help you grow. Miguel Angel Torres- my dad. You have been with me as much as you could, helping to shape me into the man I am today. I know you and I don agree on a lot of things which has caused us to butt heads so much, but even then, I know you love me. Thank you. I know you have made mistakes in your life, but I want to tell you, wherever you may be now, I forgive you. After all, I was one of your mistakes Ryan Payne- my little brother. I thank you for introducing me to a whole new different world. A world of bass and lasers lol. I have not been around as much as I would want to, but know that I appreciate your individuality and honesty. Always call it like you see it! Never lose yourself Ryan Coe- thank you for believing in me. You were one of the very few teachers that genuinely cared for his students and would move mountains for us. I dont think I ever did thank you for getting me that interview at CAMS. You were the one that pushed me in my first step down the path I am on now. Thank you Dr. Gayle Ball-Parker- my second mother. Thank you for reaching out to me. You are one of the most influential people in my life. If it werent for all the help and advice, both academically and personally, that you have given me, I would not be back in school right now. Judith Villaseñor- my comadre. When it comes to issues of the heart, you are the first person I turn to. Thank you for listening and helping me through all my heartbreaks and my sorrows. You are the cup that catches my heart when it pours out when I pour it out. Valerie Pineda-Donate- I cant begin to say how much I appreciate you. I think back on the night that I met you 4 years ago and it amazes me how much our friendship has endured the test of time and distance. Thank you for believing in me and always supporting me in my decisions. For lending an ear when I need to vent and for making me feel appreciated
