Today is World Environment Day (WED)! Celebrated every year on June 5, it is the United Nations’ principal vehicle to raise global awareness to take positive environmental action to protect nature and planet Earth. The 2014 theme for WED will focus on Small Islands and Climate Change, the official slogan for the year 2014 is Raise Your Voice Not The Sea Level. goo.gl/Kv8Cke Particularly on this theme, we want to send a shout out to Ken Foundation in #Vishakhapatnam, and Barefoot Foundation in #Odisha, for their awesome volunteerism in keeping India’s eastern coast clean and usable for future generations. To commemorate World Environment Day, join us TODAY for a screening of “Chasing Ice,” an award-winning film by American documentary maker Jeff Orlowski. “Chasing Ice” is the story of one man’s mission to change the tide of history by gathering undeniable evidence of our changing planet. Working with acclaimed environmental photographer, James Balog, Orlowski and his team deployed time-lapse cameras across the Arctic to vividly capture a multi-year record of the world’s changing glaciers.
