Today is a Double Whammy... August 11th.... the day my momma married that dude that took me under his wing, well, his ARM actually, but wing sounds better...like I was his own... from the very beginning, I was accepted by him as part of the package deal... Im sure Ive pissed him off a time or two, or 12, but hes always been there to catch me when I fall... Momma done good!!! I was 5 when they got married... Dad has a daughter that instantly became my sister and I wouldnt have it any other way... from the outside looking in, youd never know we werent blood kin... we all just gel like a family should... UPS and DOWNS... I owe the world to mom and dad... If not for their help, my business wouldnt exist... but they believed in me and helped me and here I am... Mom picked a perfect roll model for me... Honest, Christian man that loved to hunt and fish and be outside...well, not so much anymore because were both getting too old for all that, but we try... Mom and Dad are Nee Nee and Paw Paw to my kids and when my grandbaby starts talking, theyll be that to her, too... Happy Anniversary, you two!!! Thank you for everything you do and have done!!! I love yall to the moon!!! Brad Paisley said it best... I hope Im at least half the dad, that he didnt have to be and the 2nd part of the Double Whammy, is today marks 2 years since Linda and I went on our first date... well, we didnt GO very far... we went outside in law chairs and watched the exact same meteor shower that were having now... We both tired out before the shower really got going so we missed it... it happens this time every year... so maybe one of these years we can stay up late enough to see it... We havent seen it yet... But she and her kids have welcomed me with open arms and Im truly honored to be part of their little family... Speaking of family, Whitney will be getting married in October!!! Were all pretty excited about that! Thats a true blessing in itself! So happy A-Day to Linda Parker, too!!! I love you huge!!!
