Today is considered to be the Hofer Nationalfeiertag, Hofs national holiday. It begins with a festive parade by the Guild of Marksmen (Schützengilde) that leads them from the so-called Schießhäuschen via Ludwigstraße, Altstadt (old city), Bismarckstraße, Friedrichstraße and Konrad-Adenauer-Platz all the way to Lessingstraße where the official Schlappen-Bierfest begins. Here in Lessingstraße, the specially brewed Schlappenbier is served - its brewed for this day alone! Interested in a Monday evening mountain bike ride?
