Today is a big symbolic step towards my lifes passion & purpose and a solid commitment to my role in filling the gap in healthcare that I envision so clearly. I have registered to become a professionally-certified East West Planetary Herbalist. This 3-4 year course of academic & clinical study will educate me with a global approach to the worlds greatest herbal healing traditions -- Western Herbalism, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Traditional Ayurvedic Medicine (TAM). This professional education in herbalism & eastern diagnostic systems combined with my existent knowledge of pharmacology & evidence-based medicine, will allow me to truly act as the bridge between the two worlds I aspire to be...both as a clinician & as a future leader in the integrative medicine revolution already taking place! While there are many on-site requirements & clinical mentorships necessary for completion, much of my study can be done from a distance online. Therefore, I will continue to see patients & actively apply everything I learn as I learn it. May this decision not only benefit my own professional growth, but the health of my friends, family, future patients & all the communities that I serve! Health & Happiness to All! :-)
