Today is a day of reflection for me each year. Heres what I have this year. Mary was a stay-at-home mom; she saw our LORD: suckle at her breast, have nightmares, take his first steps, fall down, get bullied, scrape His knee, experience defeat, enjoy success, and finally, DIE on the most vicious and torturous device man has ever developed for capital punishment: the CROSS! We honour mothers this Xmas day as well as our Saviour. We know that Joseph respected God and Mary and Jesus so much that he never would have defiled her - he treated her as he would have the WIFE of God, the Holy Spirit and the temple of God the Father. We honour Mary, mothers, and then Joseph, fathers and then Jesus, and children (hence St. Nicholas from the Eastern Church) this day - the Holy Family if you will. Father, Mother, and Child. These are requirements for a family. Try to live their lives, and experience joy beyond all the riches and luxuries youll ever attain on the blink-of-an-eye life span you plan to have while here on earth. Even if there were no heaven, would having a Holy Family have been in vain? Happy Xmas once again to all of you. Live Xmas every day of the year, and benefit from the blessings of the LORD! Godspeed!
