Today is a sad day for the political world, The death of Tony Benn will leave a void of someone who had morals and principles, I had the pleasure of meeting Tony four times in my life, and each time I disagreed with him, on some of his polices but I respected him enormously. I know on one occasion at a meeting in West Yorkshire he had a huge row and debate with a moron from another party over the miners strike, at one time I thought blows were coming, at the end of the debate in the bar lounge you could see Tony buying the other a guy a drink! The man was a genius, he told me always be nice to your friends but be nicer to your enemys even more so, because nothing pisses them off more. What a guy There is not one politician who can hold a light to the man for his sincere honesty. you always got the truth. His literacy talks were quite brilliant particularly the funny side of politics and he could tell some stories. R.I.P. Tony you have earned your place in history.
