Today is a special celebration of a great man! I am (un)officially beginning a new national holiday so that we can all honor him every year on this day and also remember all those who are afflicted with this evil, incurable disease. Happy Derren Day everyone! Not going to lie…September has been a hard month for me, but no more tears today. I am feeling blessed that I had the chance to spend 13 years with that man. He would want me to continue with and enjoy my life, raise our wonderful little boy, and be happy. Derren loved to be outside so go do something fun outside today, yall. Its a beautiful day here in Waxhaw. The best NC weather has finally begun! Ive already planted new flowers and cleaned up my back deck. Going to a festival today and having dinner with family and friends in Charlotte. And…stay tuned later tonight to see me being a wimp! #happyderrenday
