Today is a very proud and sad day for my family, a young man was except in to a very elite group of men, known as the United States Marine Corps yes my youngest son accepted into the Marine Corps today the mixture of emotions at this time between him and his mother and me are unbelievable saddened and proud all at the same time and with the world in such a disorder a knowing that he might be right in the middle of the bullshitat anu time, even though hes a second degree black belt, I know you can take care of himself and I know theyll teach me to be with people that will be there as comrades in arms as brothers, still this doesnt make it any easier, my world his and and his mothers world changed today today, my son Anthony Strickland Hicks is now a proud member of the United States Marine Corps ,I love him and i and his mother who deservices all the credit for the man he has become i know rasing two boys is no easy job, thank you Chrissie Strickland, But we are very proud of him and his decision to join this elite group of fighting men. Now how do you end conversation like this but to just to say, Im very proud of you son, I love you and may God be with you always , were praying for you and proud of you,so welcome to another phase that will change all of our lives,we as a family are now on a new road, but for you a whole new life is in front of you, trust your training up two now, and learn to trust the brothers who will be by your side for years to come. May God stay by your side as up to now through this new adventure in your life,Also if i may,ask god continue looking out for my mother who is not in great health lately lot of pain I just dont know what I can say about that its hard for me to even imagine her being in the amount pain, i also want to thank my sister, nice, brother, and aunt, who are there with my mother helping her deal with this deases that has brought so mush change and pain to my mother, my best friend, my first love, please God put your hand on her and ease her pain and keep a look out for my son in his new life of service to his country........ Jesus name Amen
