Today is a very sad day for me and my whole family. Today is the anniversary of my Fathers funeral. We buried him somewhere around this time, on this day, 34 years ago. He was 47....I am 53. It may have been 34 years ago but I miss him just as much today. He was a good man who worked very hard, sometimes having three jobs at the same time (and yet, he found time for us). He loved his family. He loved his children and he loved our mother, his wife. They had celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary that year. He provided for his family through hard work. When he lost his eye sight in 78, it was nearly unbearable that we had to get food stamps to make it. As soon as he had his eye surgery and was able, he went right back to work at what ever job he could find so that we would not have to have public assistance. He loved God and family and he hated anything that went against his beliefs. Now my Dad was not perfect, though I tend to make him sound that way. He did have a temper and was head strong but he also was understanding. He wanted us to be anything that we wanted. He encouraged us to try new things. He may only have had a 10th grade education but he was brilliant. His math skills were remarkable. I miss him and am proud that he was my Dad. He was born Nov. 12 1933 and died Dec. 17th, 1980. My dad died in a work related accident.
