Today is always an incredibly hard day for myself and many other people I know. Ive had a couple people ask me to post a poem that I had written and read for Ashley 3 years ago. For those of you who didnt know her, hopefully this will give you a little insight as to what a fun, loving, talented, smart, wonderful person she was. Heres a little poem About a young lady named Ash Who had a tendency to break things And earned the nickname Smash Like a few weeks ago At a baby shower we were throwin She shattered a $50 glass Within minutes of showin During summer and school breaks Smash, Zuze, and Thomas stayed On my floor in snuggle forts That the 3 of them made She would house sit for my cat She really loved Marvin But she tended to over feed him I think she thought he was starvin Salazar was her favorite He was my little fish Feeding him his dinner Was her only wish She loved my fish so much She even bought me two betas But she must have over fed them too Cause they were belly up a day later We would lay on the floor And color all night And then shed arrange my crayons By color dark to light And sometimes Id just sit there And watch her draw The way she used her colors Always left me in aw Smash at my wedding Was one of the greatest times We laughed, danced, and sang And drank lots of wine At one point that day She sat on my lap And yelled Jen, its your freaking wedding day! And started to clap We went back to the dance floor For that day thats where we spent And before she left to stay with Marvin She left a gift in the best mans tent Oh Smash, all the memories From PLL to the club Time spent with you Was never a flub The card that you made me For college graduation day Was drawn so beautifully And makes me laugh with what you had to say From a friend you became a sister And over the years youve grown To mean more to me Than can even be shown I hope that this poem Made you smile when thinking of Smash Because if it had been sad and mushy She wouldve kicked my ass I love you so much Smash And miss you even more Ill see you again someday When you meet me at heavens door
