Today is an absolutely massive Monday capping off a huge week and ending in a double milestone. It can no longer be said that I’m at least 300 pounds. As of this morning my scale settled in at 296, and I have now officially lost 100 pounds over the last 4.5 months. These are two huge personal accomplishments, but there is a tremendous amount of credit due to a lot of people. Special thanks to Chuck & Fr-Michael for all their info and many hours of questions and conversations pre and post-op. It was our discussions that helped me come to my decision to have the surgery, and of course Fr. Mike thanks for the prayers, which I’m pretty sure have all been answered. Thanks to Rosalie & Victor, for the surgical referral. Thank you to Loyola Medical Center/Gottleib Memorial Hospital and their incredible weight loss center of doctors, nurses and support staff, specifically Dr. Chand (surgeon), Dr. Grupsky & nurse Katie. Another big shout out and big thanks go to the aerobics trainers at the Western Springs Rec Center. Mary Kay & Kelly have been fantastic, motivating and directly responsible for a good portion of my success as well as all the encouragement of all ladies in the Monday/Wednesday & Tuesday/Thursday morning aerobics sessions each week. Thank you to all my Facebook friends for all of your kind words of encouragement, even you George Katsoudas. Finally a great big “Thank You” to my wife Christina for her patience and unwavering support, this hasn’t been an easy last year, and the journey isn’t nearly over yet, but you’ve been a rock and your encouragement hasn’t gone unnoticed. On to the next 100+ pounds, it’s not likely to be as easy as the first 100.
