Today is day one of something different - a process of shedding my skin. I just started a treatment for the basal cell and pre-cancerous spots that are all over my face. This is not going to be pretty but I promise to spare you all from posting the daily pictures I will be taking. I may have to go into hiding. As brave as I am, I am not sure I am brave enough to go out into the world while my face turns into one huge scab. I am going to try and use this experience as an opportunity for personal renewal and thought Id start during the High Holy Days. Wish me luck. Words of wisdom and comfort are welcome. Its not that big of deal really, and in the end I will be cancer free and look 15 years younger. But if you want to see where my face is headed, and you can stomach it, google Efudex or Flouruoracil. Really it is after the 2 - 3 weeks of treatment, during the healing process, that will be the worst.Today is day one. I am ready to shed this old skin and preparing to face the world anew.
