Today is mine and Fields 10 year wedding anniversary. I love him more now than that day 10 years ago and can not imagine my life without him. He keeps me grounded, but still manages to let me fly like the free bird that I am. He makes everything better with 3 little words. He is an amazing father to our children. He still tells me I am beautiful at least once a day. After 15 years together and 10 years of marriage, having children and owning a business, we have learned so much about one another. I would like to share my 3 tips to a successful marriage...thus far. :) 3. NEVER EVER EVER speak poorly about your spouse. Now, lets be real, this will happen. You are with your best friends and life is rough and all you need to do is vent, but immediately you feel bad that you spoke poorly about the man you love. It happens, but try to NOT let it happen again. Our thoughts leads us to our words and actions, so if we refuse to dwell on the things that upset us, they cannot affect us. If a thought about how mad you are pops into your mind and you entertain the thought, remind yourself of the truth. Field is better at this than me, but I am really trying my best to one up him. 2. Your husband is more important than your children. Yep, I will say it again. Your Husband is MORE important than your children, and for the sake of your children and their future relationships, they should know that. Our society has placed our childrens importance higher than our spouses and well, there is no denying what that has done to Americas families. How can your children understand what a healthy relationship looks like and love their future spouse unconditionally, if they believe their mother loves them more than she loves her own husband. Make time for one another, ALONE. He needs to know that he is still the only man in your life. 1. Tell him you love him every day, but even MORE importantly, tell him that you RESPECT him. He needs to know that you admire him and what he does every day for your family. He needs your respect more than you will ever know. He is the man of your home, your children and your heart, do not forget that.
