Today is my 2nd anniversary of working for the shared services - TopicsExpress

Today is my 2nd anniversary of working for the shared services team within the HR Department. Today I feel the need to thank a former colleague from the Facilities department, because if it hadn’t been for this person I would never have thought of applying for a promotion. You see this person and I never got along, we butted heads on an almost daily basis. Even though I loved my job as an Attendant, I couldn’t wait to get away from them. Even when I was having my worst health problems, I still wanted to go to work because I enjoyed my role as an Attendant. This however changed when this person was moved to PCH after they had been shifted between every other building on the Parliamentary estate because management couldn’t handle them. So after several requests to switch teams or buildings to get away from this person had been denied I decided the only way to escape was to leave facilities. The fact that this person also applied for the same role and didn’t get invited to interview was delicious! But even when I was successful in my application and I had been offered the role of Administrative Officer I was still not sure if I wanted to leave a job that I loved. As luck would have it, I was sat on Visitor’s Reception with this despised colleague when the email detailing my new role came through, and my decisions was made very simple when they told a member of the public to “Go away, I won’t talk to you anymore!” So although it is very childish to bring all this up, and I really should let go of old grudges (just a warning, I never do), today I am very thankful to that former colleague for being such a monumental twat. If it hadn’t have been for you, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
