Today is my mothers birthday. I am not sure if she is online to see this but it will be said anyhow. There are not many who are fortunate enough to have the type of mother I have. Life has always sought to throw its worst her way but when I think back, easily she is the personification of Favor Not being Fair. I am proud my mother is not like other moms because we would have problems. She was meant to be mine to help mold a perfectly flawed son in the absence of my deceased father. She had the presence of mind to not only preserve yet protect my masculinity. Unfortunately, this is not a shared mindset yet for her to remember the importance of what means to her sons. Any son. That, among many things about the woman I am proud to have as my 1st Teacher. My Mom. A woman of dignity, grace & class yet never above cocking back the hammer or tattooing a foot in a wayward ass.
