Today is my one year anniversary at the Santander Arena and Performing Arts Center. One Year ago if you told me I would be a part of shows like Bill Cosby, Cake Boss, Loretta Lynn, Disney On Ice, Lewis Black, Masters of Illusion, Aaron Lewis of Staind, Lisa Lampanelli, Third Day, Ghost Hunters, American Idol, SPANK! The 50 Shades Parody, Jason Bishops Paranormal Tour, Bryan Adams, Plain White Ts and Ina Garten, I wouldve said your nuts. If you said SMG would fly me out to LA to meet some of the biggest music agents and promoters from the biggest agencies and promoters in the world, gave me the opportunity to meet great friends in the SMG Family, and opened windows to develop amazing relationships in the music industry, I mightve laughed at you. If you told me that in a year Id be looking forward to the shows coming up, including booking the legendary Tony Bennett, Cesar Millan, Jerry Seinfeld, Gavin Degraw, Daniel ODonnel, Andrew Dice Clay, and The Beach Boys, Id say to get out of town with that! If you told me Id see sell outs come to my building including Florida Georgia Line, PHISH, Chris Cornell, Morrissey, Three Days Grace/Shinedown, Get the LED Out, Tedeschi Trucks and Jim Gaffigan, Id look at you as if you had 3 heads... Finally if you told me Id see Sylvia Brownes last performance in Reading, see Elmo and Oscar light up childrens faces, have the Great Khali tell ME Im in his way, have to tip toe in my own building because Bob Seger is taking a nap, became friends with Hot Sauce from And1 Streetball, crowd watch at the Marilyn Manson/Alice Cooper show we had, talk to Drew Carey about how he digs random music like polka to get him through 5 hr drives, crack up at every joke Theresa Caputo made to us back stage, see the PA Roar introduce themselves as the first Major Indoor Soccer League team in Reading, AND see the Reading Royals win their first ever franchise Kelly Cup Championship, Id say youd need to check into the hospital... BUT, it all happened. To me. In a year. Ive made some of the best friends and met some of the greatest people I could have ever hoped for. I cant wait to see what year 2 brings.
