Today is our fifth wedding anniversary. Robb and I made it to our fifth wedding anniversary. Sometimes I can’t believe that — for reasons having nothing to do with brain cancer. Robb eats too much fast food and stays up til 6AM, and that drive me nuts because its not healthy for him, and since hes 20 years my senior, I care about that. I’m sure my nagging him about these things drives HIM nuts. :) I think Robb’s optimism is a source of inspiration and admiration for a lot of people. When we arrived in Mexico in February, three weeks out of Robb’s brain surgery, Dr. Cedeno looked at Robb grimly and told him it was important to be positive and to have a good attitude. That was before he knew Robb, who has barely complained through this 8 month ordeal. Robb has always been a big talker and a big communicator. I stress the word BIG. And then he gets a brain tumor in his speech centers that affects his ability to do two of his favorite things: talk and write. “Dogged persistence” is a good phrase to characterize Robb. Here he is yesterday in our hotel room, enjoying a laugh about something in between working on a funding pitch for a “Mission to Mars” using ion drives. He looks great, doesnt he? And for fun, here are a few more pictures of us on our wedding day. My husband is amazing, and he’s my hero. Happy anniversary, Robb!
