Today is said to be the official first Day of the initiation of the Spring/Basant/Bahar season in the Indian Sub-Continent...on this occasion we would like to share a gem by Farida Khanum...Farida Khanum sings a lively Ritu Geet in the Raag Bahar: https://youtube/watch?v=WbTdPs_vk6A ...Farida Khanum has not sung much of the Raag Bahar in her usual South Asian Classical Vocal genres such as Thumri, Ghazal, Dadra etc...there again-we find gems like this Ritu Geet itself to be forever relished!the Musical Accompaniment is very Filmy kind i.e. fully laden with a Western Orchestra...usually not Farida Khanums style nor her Gaiyaki Ang but Farida Khanum has sung a few Songs in the non-South Asian Classical parameters and this is again a one fine example of such an experiment...this Ritu Geet was penned by the Poet Nasir Kazmi... Note: for all those Fans out there who cannot access Youtube-there is not a non-Youtube link to this Ghazal...
