Today is the 109th birthday anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, the great legendary player for his contribution to the Indian hockey. Dhyan Chands birthday also marks as the National Sports Day of India and is celebrated throughout the country. Dhyan Chand was born on 29 August 1905. Dhyan Chand is widely considered as the greatest field hockey player of All Time and is most remembered for his extraordinary goal-scoring feats, in addition to earning three Olympic gold medals 1928, 1932, and 1936 in field hockey, during an era where India was the most dominant team in Hockey. Major Dhyan Chand played his final international match in 1948, having scored more than 400 goals during his international career’ Let us salute this great sportsman and hope that Indian government bestow him with Bharat ratna.
