Today is the 7th anniversary of the papal decree Summorum - TopicsExpress

Today is the 7th anniversary of the papal decree Summorum Pontificum which freed priests to offer the traditional Latin Mass and gave any of the faithful who desire it access to the traditional Latin Mass. One of the distinctive aspects of the traditional Latin Mass is the fact that the priest does not face the congregation. While this can be initially off-putting, it makes sense after you realize that the Mass calls the priest and the people together to focus on GOD, not each other. So there is a logic to both priest and people facing the same way, with the priest, as it were, representing the entire people before God.
