Today is the NYC Marathon covering all 5 boroughs of NYC - last year it was cancelled because of Hurricane Sandy - I have competed in and completed 3 NYC Marathons - the last one was Nov 2001 - which was quite a moving experience still seeing the smoke rising from lower Manhattan. The runners feed off your energy - especially those near the back of the pack - (I know from experience) - so get out along the route wherever is convenient for you and cheer them on - give them whoot whoots - they frequently have their names on their shirts - call them by name - you cant believe the rush it gives them even if they dont acknowledge you - Im getting the chills now reliving those memories. GO GO GO!!!
