Today is the autism walk in Orlando. Just a few short months ago I had EVERY intention of being there just as I had been there the prior two years. The first year in support of my nephew and the second year for my own child who had only been diagnosed a few months earlier. Fast forward to now to where my life has done a 180 and has come to be so far different to what I thought it would be. So since I cannot physically be there to walk and I know there will be no one there representing for Kaleo or my nephew I will have my own version. Today I will hold my head a little higher, I will love my child more than I already do. I will see the beauty in his meltdown or his stimming. I will find humor in his lining up his toys in a perfect row. I will spread awareness more than I normally do. I will marvel at the fact that hes gone from nonverbal to listening to him singing along to the songs on his favorite shows and knowing every single word. I will continue to be that warrior and advocate for my child. Mostly I will continue to believe that my son and so many others with autism are here to change us all in some way and to show us the world from a different perspective because if you think you cannot learn something from an autistic child .... Well you are missing out BIG time.󾬕󾬓󾬔❤️
