Today is the day one year ago that my dad was promoted to Heaven after his battle with cancer. I miss him more than words can say. I see him in almost everything I do. At church, at my home, at his house, in my moms tears, in my garage going through my tools, in his truck when I drive it, sitting in my theatre chairs, walking through my yard, in my grand babies who he loved so much, and more. My dad got up every morning and read his bible. He always talked to me about what he read. I would do my best to explain the scriptures to him. Well, today he is with the one he loved to read so much about! Yes this has been one of the hardest weeks for me in a while and I have had several times of shedding tears and talking to God about how I miss my Dad. That being said, I would not bring my dad back here to go through more suffering and pain if I could. I am glad he is home with His God and I am happy knowing he will never hurt again! The last words my dad said to me as he gripped my arm and pulled me down to him was, LARRY, DONT LET ME LAY HERE AND HURT LIKE THIS ANYMORE...Thank you to Chaz Dickerson for being with dad at the hospital before he went to the hospice home. Thanks to all the wonderful staff at Hospice in Dobson, NC for helping me keep my promise to my dad by making sure he was not in pain and was able to leave this world without screaming in pain. Thanks to friends, family, and church family for all you did then and continue to do today! Dad, just so you know....me, mom, and the family miss you so much but I promise you that we will see you again in heaven some day when our time here is up! Love always, your baby boy!
