Today is the final day of (Not Our) Debt Week week, a Global week of action action against illegitimate debts and the role of international financial institutions. Debt repudiation has been advocated as an essential aspect of stopping the current violations and harms of the destructive economic and sociopolitical order. The Petition of the Jubilee 2000 Africampaign included the following to make a fresh start, and mindful of the legitimate demand of Afrikan people throughout the continent and Diaspora for reparations, we must have rectification, locally, nationally and internationally in order to put behind us the real causes of the debt crisis. PARCOE activists such as Kofi Mawuli Klu and Kwame Adofo Sampong continue to make this point from such a standpoint which we helped the J200 Africampaign to propagate worldwide since 1998. Obviously the current Grenada position shows that this is all the more relevant now.
