Today is the funeral of Stan Zielinski, beloved Yarraville tailor and survivor and escapee of a German labour camp in WWII. His story was filmed by local filmmaker Norman Wills, who submitted the film into our festival earlier this year. It is the classic story of a refugee who overcame hardship to have a successful life in Australia, and become a contributor to his community. The funeral service for Mr Stan ZIELINSKI will be held in the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 33 High St Yarraville on Thursday - today - 25th September at 10.30am. In the meantime, Stan tells his story here. Our condolences to his family.
